FIFA Reaffirms Democratic Principles Regarding Presidential Election

FIFA issued a statement responding to recent declarations from CONMEBOL and the African Confederation (CAF) in support of Gianni Infantino and his presidency. The governing body emphasized it will not support, facilitate or tolerate any process related to the election of the FIFA President that is inconsistent with its Statutes, democratic procedures and established governance framework. It further reaffirmed that the current President was democratically elected and continues to serve his mandate.
